WINGS 1

2th Anniversary Celebration of Life & Hope

On September 11, 2011, Larissa Davee (TCOR Executive Administrative Assistant) attended the WINGS 12th
anniversary Celebration of Life & Hope. There's a theme every year. This year was "WINGS over the Serengeti." WINGS is a non-profit breast cancer treatment organization for women and men who are uninsured.

How it works: an uninsured woman/man is found to have an abnormality within her/his mammogram. The doctor or radiologist can then give them a referral to WINGS. If he/she qualifies after financial screening, the WINGS medical director will examine to identify the cause of the abnormality. A card will be issued (similar to an insurance card) and physicians' bills will then be paid for by WINGS. WINGS is funded by institutional grants and individual donations. Their website:

Relay for Life
TCOR Insurance Management is participating in the Bee County Relay For Life on April 29th from 7 pm to 7 am April 30th. Our team has raised just over $1600 so far. Relay For Life is a fund raising event with The American Cancer Society to support cancer research and community programs for cancer survivors and their families. TCOR is also the corporate sponsor for the Luminaria Ceremony at 9 pm. White paper bags with lighted candles line the track at the high school stadium and have the names of cancer survivors in their honor and in memory of our friends and family that did not survive their battle. The ceremony recognizes these people and the struggles they endure. The stadium lights are turned off and the only light is from the candles. Participants stop all activities and take a few minutes to celebrate the survivors and to honor the memory of those who didn't.

Maroon Out!
The TCOR team members wore maroon, April 5, to support and honor the Lady Aggies Basketball team, playing for its first ever national championship. TCOR members celebrated as the Aggies took the title with a thrilling 76-70 victory over Notre Dame. By wearing maroon the TCOR team also helped raise funds for the Relay for Life of Bee County, TX on April 29th. It is an exciting time as the event draws near. It is a great way for communities to pull together and celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.
